Toy Cavapoo Size Full Grown

Toy Cavapoos are the smallest size of Cavapoos.  The Toy Cavapoo size is a result of breeding the Tiny/Toy Poodle and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, both of which are small in size.

The Toy Poodle stands around 10 inches in height and weighs between 6 and 9 pounds.  Cavalier King Charles Spaniels vary in size ranging from 12-13 inches in height and weighing between 13 and 18 pounds.

What About Standard Cavapoos?

Typically, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are not bred with Standard Poodles.

What Impacts the Size of a Cavapoo?

A lot of aspects impact how large your Cavapoo will be when they’re fully grown.  Some of these include their gender, the height and weight of the parents, and which generation of Cavapoo your pup is.  The combination of all of these factors make it somewhat difficult to predict exactly how big your dog will be, but it helps us come up with a general estimate.

First, their gender plays a role in answering the question of how big do Cavapoos get.  Before getting a puppy, many ask themselves the question of whether they should choose a male vs female Cavapoo?

In most cases, the size of a male Cavapoo will be slightly larger than a female Cavapoo.  There isn’t a huge difference, but males are about 10% larger.

In smaller breeds, including the Toy Cavapoo and Mini Cavapoo size, the weight and height differences won’t be as noticeable as other larger breeds like the Newfypoo, Saint Berdoodle, or Great Danoodle.

Another important aspect to consider is the size of the parents. The genetics that are passed from the parents to their offspring play a role in how large a Cavapoo will get.  It’s more likely than not that if one of the parents was on the smaller side then their offspring may be a little smaller than average as well!

However, genetics are impossible to predict 100%, so this isn’t always a telltale sign of how large your pup will be when fully grown.

Finally, which generation of Cavapoo your dog is will be a big part of how big they will get!  A Cavapoo’s “generation” refers to the theoretical genetic makeup of your dog and how close it is to that of a Poodle or a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

In simple terms, a Cavapoo puppy that has more Mini Poodle than Cavalier King Charles Spaniel could be slightly larger than a Cavapoo that has more Cavalier King Charles Spaniel than Mini Poodle.  This is because, on average, the Mini Poodle is slightly larger than the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

This is excluding all other contending criteria that may affect a dog’s size.  Simply, the higher percentage of the larger dog, the larger the dog is likely to be.

When Do Cavapoos Stop Growing?

You may be hoping that your Cavapoo never gets any bigger!  Savor these puppy days— time will fly by before you know it!  We’ve answered the question, “how big do Cavapoos get?”  But, when do Cavapoos stop growing?

Cavapoos usually reach full size by one year of age.  Just like other factors, this relies significantly on genetics!

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, like other smaller breeds, tend to mature fully over a shorter period of time in comparison to larger breeds.  By 18 months, they’re essentially done growing.

Poodles, on the other hand, tend to grow a little faster.  Both Toy and Mini Poodles are generally done growing by around 6-7 months of age.  However, some may continue to grow until they are a year old.
