Size is an important factor when buying a dog, as certain sizes may be more suitable for different families, lifestyles, and living situations! Additionally, which size you choose often affects how much you’ll pay for your Labradoodle.
Even if you already have a Labradoodle puppy, you might be wondering how much more your fur baby will grow!
There are five Labradoodle sizes—teacup, toy, miniature, medium, and standard. Read on to find out how big do Labradoodles get, what impacts the size of a Labradoodle, and when do Labradoodles stop growing!
Teacup Labradoodle Size Full Grown
While not an “official” size, the Teacup Labradoodle size, also known as the Petite Labradoodle size, is even smaller than the more common Toy Labradoodle size. This is accomplished by breeding a Mini or Toy Labradoodle with a Toy Poodle.
The Toy Poodle stands around 10 inches in height and weighs between 6 and 9 pounds. The Toy Labradoodle will be around 13 to 20 pounds and stand 14-15 inches in height.
While you should always be mindful about choosing a responsible doodle breeder, make sure you do an extra bit of due diligence when considering a teacup or toy size of a traditionally larger breed.
Sadly, there are some unethical breeders who prioritize tiny stature over healthy puppies and those dogs sometimes have numerous health problems over the course of their life.
How big do Teacup Labradoodles get? Usually, the full grown Teacup Labradoodle size is around 9-12 inches tall and weighs in at about 13 pounds or lighter. A decent guide to how tall they will be is a standard sheet of printer paper.

Toy Labradoodle Size Full Grown
The Toy Labradoodle size is the second smallest type of Labradoodle, right after the Teacup Labradoodle size. These little pups are typically the result of breeding the Toy Poodle with a Mini Labradoodle.
The Toy Poodle stands around 10 inches in height and weighs in at around 6 and 9 pounds. The Mini Labradoodle stands around 16-20 inches in height and weighs between 20 and 40 pounds.

How big do Toy Labradoodles get? On average, a full grown Toy Labradoodle is around 13-15 inches tall and weighs around 13 to 20 pounds.

Mini Labradoodle Size Full Grown
The Mini Labradoodle size is larger than the Toy Labradoodle size but not quite as big as the Standard Labradoodle size. The Mini Labradoodle size is a result of breeding the Miniature Poodle and the Labrador Retriever.
The first parent breed, the Mini Poodle, stands around 11-14 inches in height and weighs in between 12 and 20 pounds. The second parent breed, the Labrador Retriever, is a much larger breed in comparison—they usually stand between 22 and 24 inches tall, and weigh 55 and 79 pounds!
How Big Do Mini Labradoodles Get?
How big do Mini Labradoodles get? On average, the full grown adult Mini Labradoodle size is 16 to 20 inches in height and 20-40 pounds. Typically, they fall on the smaller end of that scale between 20-30 pounds in weight and 16-18 inches in height.

Medium Labradoodle Size Full Grown
The Medium Labradoodle size is another “unofficial” size of Labradoodle. It is often used to describe larger Miniature Labradoodles or smaller Standard Labradoodles.

How big do Medium Labradoodles get? There aren’t specific measurements to the medium Labradoodle size, but assume around 30-50 pounds and 19-22 inches in height.

Standard Labradoodle Size Full Grown
The Standard Labradoodle size is the largest of the various types. The mix of the Standard Poodle and the Labrador Retriever results in the Standard Labradoodle size.
The Standard Poodle is anywhere between 18 and 24 inches in height and weighs between 45 and 70 pounds. The Labrador Retriever is just slightly larger and stands between 22 and 24 inches in height and on average weighs between 55 and 79 pounds.

How big do Standard Labradoodles get? The full grown Standard Labradoodle size ranges from 21-25 inches in height, and usually weighs between 40 and 75 pounds.

What Impacts the Weight & Height of a Labradoodle?
There are so many aspects that contribute to how big your Labradoodle will be when fully grown! Some of the main components include their gender, the height and weight of the parents, and which generation of Labradoodle your puppy is.
The combination of all of these factors make it somewhat difficult to predict exactly how big your dog will be, but it can help us come up with a general estimate!
First, their gender plays a role in answering the question of how big do Labradoodles get. Before getting a puppy, many ask themselves the question: should I choose a male vs female Labradoodle?
On average, the height and weight of a male Labradoodle will be slightly larger than a female Labradoodle. There isn’t a huge difference, but generally males are about 10% larger.
In smaller breeds like the Peekapoo and Pomapoo, it may not be as noticeable, but in larger breeds such as the Labradoodle, you could expect a ballpark estimate of the size difference to be 1-2 inches in height and around 5 pounds.
Another important aspect to consider is the parent’s size. The genetics that are passed from the parents to their offspring play a role in how large a Labradoodle will get. It’s more likely than not that if one of the parents was on the smaller side then their offspring may be a little smaller than average as well!
However, genetics are impossible to predict 100%, so this isn’t necessarily the most accurate way to predict how big your pup will be when full grown.
Finally, which generation of Labradoodle your pup is will be a big part of how big they will get! A Labradoodle’s “generation” refers to the theoretical genetic makeup of your dog and how close it is to that of a Poodle or a Labrador Retriever.

In simple terms, a Labradoodle puppy that has more Poodle than Labrador Retriever could be slightly smaller than a Labradoodle that has more Labrador Retriever than Poodle. This is because on average, the Poodle is smaller than the Labrador Retriever.
For example, if a dog is estimated to be 87.5% Poodle and 12.5% Labrador Retriever, they’re likely to be on the smaller side. Of course, this is excluding all other contending criteria that may affect a dog’s size. In simple terms, the higher percentage of the smaller dog, the smaller the dog is likely to be.
When Do Labradoodles Stop Growing?
Your Labradoodle may seem like they’re never going to stop growing! These puppy days will fly by, so savor them while you can! We now know the answer to, “how big do Labradoodles get?” But, when do Labradoodles stop growing?
First, let’s look at the parent breeds. Labrador Retrievers are generally finished growing by 2 years of age. Standard Poodles can take 1.5-2 years to reach their full size. On the other hand, Miniature and Toy Poodles are generally finished growing by 6-8 months of age.
Standard Labradoodles will usually take slightly longer to reach their full size than Mini, Toy, or Teacup Labradoodles. This is because bigger dogs grow slower over a more extended period of time in comparison to smaller breeds.
A Standard or Medium Labradoodle will likely grow like a weed for the first year and a half of their life, but may continue to grow and completely fill out until 2 years of age. Considering the mixes that create the Mini, Toy, and Teacup Labradoodles, they should be finished growing closer to 7-12 months in age.
